Outlook Sync Addin (experimental and not yet fully stable)

Requirements

• Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
• Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2

Compatibility

Skoach synchronizer is compatible with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 only, with or without Microsoft Exchange Server.

When Will My Skoach-Outlook Synchronization Occur

1. Upon Outlook 2003 Startup, provided “Synchronize upon start-up option is selected” in Skoach add-in preferences.
2. Upon creation of appointments in Outlook (this type of synchronization works only for local folders, rather than those of Outlook Exchange).
3. Upon editing of appointments in Outlook (this type of synchronization works only for local folders, rather than those of Outlook Exchange).
4. Every x minutes, based on the interval chosen in Skoach add-in preferences.
5. Upon request – using the “synchronize now” option.

A very important note: Only fixed tasks will be synchronized. The idea is that Outlook calendar is where people keep their scheduled meetings and appointments, not their "todo" items.

Installation Instructions

1. Download SkoachVSTO-0.24.zip and unzip it.
2. Shutdown Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
3. Run the setup.exe file (do not run .msi file).
4. Follow instructions of the wizard and choose values by default.
5. Run Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
6. Choose "Skoach Sync" from main toolbar and choose "Skoach settings" (if you don't see "Skoach Sync" in your toolbar, see note below).
7. Enter your Skoach username and password.
8. To synchronize with Skoach, press button "Synchronize With Skoach now" and/or choose timed interval you desire (such as 5 mins)

Note that in order to see synchronization update reflected in web-based Skoach, please refresh the Skoach page in the browser. (One way to do that is to press F5)

Note: If upon reinstalling Skoach sync, you don't see "Skoach Sync" in your toolbar, please follow instructions.

Limit creation of appointments in Outlook during sync to tasks in selected time categories

By default all new fixed tasks in Skoach will appear in Outlook after synchronization. In order to restrict creation of appointments in Outlook you should check off the following checkbox in the User Preferences panel.

In this case the following checkboxes will appear in Time Cateroties in the Time Map:

You can select categories from which appointments will be added during sync.
