Task Creation via Email

In order to create a task via email, you need to configure your Task creation email address in User Preferences:

taskCreationViaEmail.png

The format of the email address is username.yoursecretword@tasks2.skoach.com. Keep this email address secret, since anyone who knows it can create tasks in your account.

You can now go ahead to send email to that address to create tasks in Skoach. The subject of your email will be the name of your task, and the body of the email will be saved in the field "Notes".

If the task you email has a date/time component, it will become a non-fixed task in Skoach. On the other hand, if you send an email with the subject "Meet John Thursday at 3 PM" - you'll see "Meet John" on your Schedule Panel in Skoach scheduled for 3 PM on the very next Thursday.

Other supported date/time formats include:

  • Meet Jim Today 6pm
  • Meet Jim Tomorrow 5pm
  • Meet Jim 3/25 6pm
  • Meet Jim 03/02 at 06:15pm
  • Meet Jim 1/2 8.30AM
  • Meet Jim December 2, 8AM
  • Party Friday at 10PM
  • Party Friday, 10P.M.
  • Meeting 2PM

You can also include time durations using the following formats:

  • Meet Jim 3/25/07 6-8pm
  • Meet Jim 3/25/07 6 to 8pm
  • Meet Jim 03/02 11am-2.30pm
  • Party Friday 10:00-11:30PM

Please note that the tasks will not be created immediately, but approximately 2 minutes after reception of the email.
